On 8/15/14 Freestone was ordered into liquidation by the Delaware Department of Insurance.  All policies on Freestone paper, in place as of that date were cancelled effective 9/14/14, 12:01am.  This did not apply to coverage written with Accident Insurance Co or any other carrier contracted with Heritage.  All claims for restitution or reimbursement had to be made to Freestone’s receiver by 12/31/15.  Any claim for defense or payment received after that date can be denied.  More information can be found at: www.delawareinsurance.gov/departments/berg/rehab_bureau.shtml.  Additionally, the Texas guaranty fund does provide some protection to Texas policyholders and additional information can be found at: www.tpciga.org.  A copy of the injunction and liquidation order can be found here.
